Consumer product safety commission
For those of you that don't already receive their email announcements about recalls, I highly recommend that you check out the CPSC site and sign up for email alerts. It is free and you will be the first on your block to be made aware of the latest recalls. There are many recalls that involve normal household items as well as systems and components of a home. As an inspector, it is typically beyond the scope of most inspections to attempt to identify recalls, however it is always good information to have in the event that you do run across one of them so that you can pass the information along to your client. I believe this information would be beneficial to anyone in the real estate industry especially agents and inspectors. One of the best services we can provide is to educate our clients in any way that we can. |
